A few words about me
I've been a member of ODS since 2017, but I've been actively interested in politics since I was 16. It was my family that led me to take an interest in public affairs. One grandfather was among the “PTP” men, so from the cradle I heard about the atrocities of the communist regime. My grandmother remembered the Russian tanks rolling onto Wenceslas Square, which she witnessed at work. My other grandfather was there when democracy was being born here after 1989.
My family's brave stances motivated me to be active too. Municipal politics makes the most sense to me — through it I can directly influence the place where I live and am raising my children. In the last term I served as a non-salaried councillor of the Prague 14 city district and chair of the Committee for Culture and Leisure Activities.
I believe it's better to get involved and try to do things as best I can according to my conscience than to sit at home and complain.
I like municipal politics mainly because it's really about people. You don't have to pigeonhole yourself so much and you can work with people across the political spectrum. Of course, even in local politics we sometimes run into red tape, but obstacles are part of life.
