Main topics

01

transport

In Kbely I clearly reject the introduction of blue parking zones, because they wouldn't guarantee residents a free space and would only make them pay for parking. Instead, I propose building new parking capacity, especially a multi-storey car park in the area of the Pod Nouzovem housing estate, where a new railway station is also due to be built — and I'm pushing for it to be built quickly. The car park could be used both by our residents from the estate and by drivers from outside Kbely, who could park comfortably, switch to the train and put less strain on the streets of Kbely and, by extension, Prague. I also want to actively fight for more frequent and higher-capacity public transport bus services to metro lines B and C during the morning and afternoon rush hours, because the current situation has long been unbearable and people often can't even fit on the buses.

02

public space

I'm pushing for the creation of Kbely Technical Services, which will take over direct care of the greenery, which hasn't been looked after sufficiently in recent years, and in winter will ensure reliable maintenance of snow-covered and icy pavements and roads. Our own management will be cheaper and more efficient for Kbely than paying expensive external companies. I will work to increase the number of bins for sorted waste and to have it collected more often, as the current situation in some places is absolutely inadequate. I want to continue with the project for a square on Bakovská and make sure it offers enough benches and water features for residents to meet pleasantly. I will also push for misting systems to cool people down in summer, especially in parks, by playgrounds and in other busy places.

03

housing

I firmly reject the uncontrolled and massive construction of apartment blocks that doesn't respect the real capacity of Kbely's roads, public transport, schools, nurseries, shops or healthcare. I will fight hard to make sure that no more huge development projects are approved in Kbely, and I will prevent Kbely from being further densified with new panel blocks at the expense of greenery and the surrounding countryside. Kbely must keep its quiet character as a green small town with low-rise buildings. If any construction were to take place, I will uncompromisingly require developers to cooperate fully in building amenities even before construction of the new flats begins, and in negotiations with investors I will consistently push for part of the flats to be set aside for seniors and young families with children.

A few words about me

My name is Adam Houštecký, I'm 19 and I'm running for Prague City Hall and, above all, for mayor in our city district of Prague 19 – Kbely. I'm chair of Mladé ANO Praha, which currently has 70 members. I've been interested in politics since I was 12 and I joined Mladé ANO at 16. I gained experience on internships with Karel Havlíček, then Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and now Minister of Industry and Trade, and also in the European Parliament with MEP Jaroslav Bžoch. At secondary school I studied diplomatic service, where public administration and geopolitics were among the core subjects, and I'm now starting my first year at law school. I've lived in Kbely since I was born, I really love it and I plan to live here into old age. Unfortunately, the quality of life here has been getting worse in recent years. The population is growing, but amenities are lagging behind — we lack shops, services, transport infrastructure, capacity in schools, nurseries and sports facilities, and we're troubled by a number of other problems. That's why I decided to run. I don't want to just stand by and watch; I want to fight for Kbely to be the best possible place to live. I'm incredibly glad that the ANO movement has put its trust in me and given me the opportunity to run as what is probably the youngest mayoral candidate in the country. People often say that ANO is a party only for old people, but that's not true, as shown by the fact that 28 of us from Prague's Mladé ANO alone are running. We young people get real support from the ANO movement and the space to run and genuinely change things.
