housing

We won't sell off flats and apartment buildings without a clear public benefit. The priority will be their repair, modernisation and use for the needs of Prague 14 residents. At a time of rising housing costs, the city district must protect its housing stock and use it responsibly. Our goal is housing stock that isn't managed haphazardly, but according to clear records, technical condition, social needs and the district's long-term housing policy. Flats should serve people, but at the same time they must be part of decent, safe and well-managed buildings. In general, we don't want to sell off flats and apartment buildings. At a time of high housing costs, the housing stock is one of the most important tools the city district has.

02

schools and education

Good schools don't appear overnight. Preparing a new school or nursery takes many years, which is why it's essential to plan the development of school capacity well in advance and in close connection with the district's spatial development. We'll regularly evaluate demographic trends, planned housing construction and how full nurseries and primary schools are, and on the basis of this data continuously update the long-term strategy for the development of education in Prague 14. We'll consistently push for developers of new construction to contribute to financing the school infrastructure their projects need.

03

young people

We'll prepare a new concept for the Prague 14 Pupils' Council, update its statute and set clear and transparent rules for how it works, so that it once again becomes a stable platform for involving pupils and students in public life. We'll also create a participatory budget system that will allow young people to propose their own projects, discuss them and take part in deciding on a portion of earmarked funds. We want them to learn the principles of democracy, responsibility and managing public funds from a young age through their own experience.

A few words about me

Hi, I'm Vojta, and I've lived in Prague 14, specifically in Hloubětín, since I was born. Over eighteen years I've developed a strong bond with this neighbourhood and I care about how it will develop. For several years I've been part of the leadership of Středoškolský sněm hlavního města Prahy, an advisory body to the city executive board member for education. Thanks to this experience I've learned that changes don't come on their own, but that they make sense when they're worked on systematically. In Hloubětín I went to nursery and primary school, and today I'm in my final year at a grammar school in Černý Most. That's exactly why education is one of my main priorities. I want children to have good, modern and safe schools and parents to be confident that they can find a good education in Prague 14 too. I'm convinced that public life isn't a question of age, but of the will to take responsibility and change something. I'd like to bring a new perspective, energy and the experience I've gained working with students and in other activities. I want Prague 14 to keep developing as a place where life is good for all generations. I know how hard it is to change things for the better, but I also know that the Prague 14 town hall has the tools to improve education at primary schools. They just need to actually be used. I believe that public life isn't just for long-established citizens. Our neighbourhood needs a new impulse and I'm ready to contribute my energy and experience.
