Prague 1 is full of museums, galleries and history, but there's no space for young people who want to create, not just walk around exhibitions in circles. As someone who loves drawing, painting and animating, it seems to me that the centre offers loads of culture for tourists, but few places where young locals could meet up and spend time around art. My friends are moving away one after another because they simply can't afford to live here. I'm watching how “my” Prague 1 is slowly disappearing, fewer and fewer people my age actually stay here. It's not just about numbers or housing policy, it's about missing the people I grew up with. I guess I don't know exactly how it should be solved, I'll leave that to the experts. I'm a volunteer firefighter and the only girl in our Unit. I know first-hand how important it is for help to work when it's needed, and that it really affects how people in the centre feel at all. At the same time, as a young girl I experience safety differently too, every day. It really makes a difference whether I can walk down the street in the evening in peace, or whether drunk tourists shout at me, or I'm afraid someone wasted on an e-scooter will knock me over on the pavement. I know something is already being done about it, for example restricting pub crawls and booze tourism is a step in the right direction. But I'd like this sense of safety to be taken seriously as a whole, not just as a job for firefighters and the police.

Hi, I'm Sisi, I'm 20, I study, and on top of that I'm a volunteer firefighter, the only girl in our Unit. I live in Malá Strana. I'm into art. I draw, paint, and I'm trying out illustration and animation too, plus I play the piano. But I'm also a pretty social type, so I love spending time with friends, even just over a beer or outside.
