Main topics

01

safety

We want Prague 2 to remain safe and accessible. We'll support crime prevention, help for people at risk and more officers on the streets, with an emphasis on people's safety, not just parking enforcement. We'll focus on Karlovo náměstí and Folimanka. We'll keep zero tolerance for gambling and we reject the spread of cannabis shops and similar tourist traps that disfigure our streets and harm people's health. Together with City Hall we'll tackle the burden of the main arterial road, the continuity of parking zones, safe cycle routes and secure bike parking. Within the district's means, we'll support municipal police officers and IZS units with housing and special equipment. We'll push for modern management of the municipal police, more money for safety and better conditions of service, including recruitment and retention bonuses.

02

greenery

We want to keep Prague 2 green, clean and pleasant to live in. We'll build on the existing care for parks, trees and street greenery. When renewing and planting, we'll make sure to choose suitable tree species, provide enough shade and keep maintenance demands reasonable. We'll support courtyard gardens and opening up more green spaces to the public. We'll keep the emphasis on regular street cleaning, including cleaning up after dogs, reducing dust and noise, and keeping the surroundings of schools and playgrounds clean. We'll continue to support waste sorting and accessible collection of bio-waste and beverage cartons. Together with residents and associations, we'll protect existing greenery, prevent its loss and push for concrete environmental benefits in new buildings.

03

culture

Prague 2 already invests heavily in culture and offers a range of cultural and community projects for its residents. We want to maintain this level of support and ensure the continuity of successful events, programmes and cooperation with theatres, galleries and associations. We put emphasis on responsible financial management, the accessibility of what's on offer and suggestions from citizens. Within the existing activities, we want to pay more attention to the historical memory of Prague 2, the stories of its residents and notable figures. We'll build on the existing cooperation with the Museum of the Czechoslovak Legions and other institutions, and on projects that preserve the memories of witnesses. We want these stories to reach the public and be preserved for future generations.

A few words about me

My name is Lukáš Paulus, I'm 23 and I studied International Relations and Diplomacy at University College Prague. At secondary school I was involved in public administration activities. I'm vice-chair of the Prague organisation of Mladé ANO. As one of the youngest on the candidate list, I want to contribute my perspective to the development of Prague 2.

I've gained work experience in administration, consulting, order records, invoicing and communication with customers and suppliers. I have experience organising the activities of associations and representing them abroad.

In my free time I like reading, playing the piano and listening to classical music. I enjoy travelling, visiting historical sites, technical diving and yachting. But what's closest to my heart is history and culture. That's exactly why I care about sensitive care for the historical heritage of Prague 2, which is part of the life of the city.

Prague 2 already invests heavily in culture, and many projects for residents are working well. I want to build on this work and pay more attention to historical memory, the stories of local figures and the memories of witnesses. I see value in cooperating with the Museum of the Czechoslovak Legions, other institutions, schools and associations.

I consider its residents to be the heart of Prague 2. I want to help make sure that neighbourly relations work here, culture is accessible and public space serves for meeting and relaxing. I see caring for historical monuments as an investment in the future. I care about a neighbourhood where traditions naturally blend with the present and where every generation has its place.
