housing

In connection with the expansion of the Dukovany nuclear power plant, a significant property bubble has formed in Třebíč, pushing up sale and rental prices. I want to keep helping young couples on the threshold of adult life – it's in all our interests that they stay here and the city doesn't lose its population. In the past term we approved over 35 contracts for starter housing for them, where they can try living on their own for the first time. But my long-term vision is more comprehensive – we simply have to increase the supply of flats and make sure building happens in Třebíč. In the zoning plan we've prepared space for building flats numbering in the high hundreds. We're counting precisely on cooperative housing, which will be affordable even for those who can't get a mortgage because of a low credit rating. After all, owning a cooperative share is great security in life.

02

greenery

Planting greenery is a long-term investment for our children, not quick political points. In 2023 we committed to planting two new trees for every one felled – and in that period alone more than 1,300 have been added. I won't populistically claim that every street will be full of trees within a year. Beneath the surface, pavements and roads are criss-crossed by kilometres of pipes and cables. But we automatically factor in new planting with every major street reconstruction, and we also respond to specific suggestions from residents of family houses and apartment buildings where planting is technically feasible. I want to keep this up and try to speed up the trend. Just like creating pools and ponds, limiting glyphosate for killing weeds on pavements remains a priority for me – for the safety of our children and dogs.

03

schools and education

Primary schools have a certain autonomy in defining what they teach, and as a municipal politician it's not my place to dictate to schools and teachers how they should teach. Education should be apolitical. But let's focus on children's mental health. There are few psychologists, even fewer psychiatrists, and waiting times run to many months. Raising this topic in the public space is one of my very own personal priorities for the coming years. Grant programmes and ministry projects work mainly with psychologists, yet there is a highly knowledgeable group of professionals especially suited to first aid – psychotherapists. I'd like to look into the possibility of introducing psychotherapy in all our primary schools. So that mental health care is as accessible as clean running water from the tap.

A few words about me

I'm a proud Třebíč local. I'm a trained economist in both public administration and economic policy and international relations. I currently work in a sales position at a private company. At 22, during this electoral term, I became a member of the wider leadership of the city of Třebíč as a member of the city executive board. These four years have given me an immense amount of experience and motivation for the years ahead. The issues closest to my heart are housing, pro-family policy, a pragmatic approach to the environment, good transport infrastructure and accessible care for physical as well as mental health. I want to help make Třebíč a modern city full of opportunities, where young couples start families and don't leave after their studies. I don't want young couples to give up on having children or growing their family because they don't have their own home. I want to support private investment - it's the driving force of the local economy - to secure large-scale cooperative housing and great places for relaxation and sport in nature. I have a vision of a lively, promising place where it's worth living and planning a future. I'm convinced it's all achievable.
