Running for Společně VM

Main topics

01

Blue-green infrastructure

The global climate is changing and towns have to respond. One way we can do that is with features that retain water in the landscape - at Společně VM (unless the programme changes substantially from its draft) we're planning to build a water park, that is, a space that serves as a town park and at the same time, through pools and other water features, helps both to retain water in the landscape and to support biodiversity. I'd like the upcoming term of office to continue the expert-based renewal and spread of the town's greenery. I'd prefer more of both low and tall greenery in the town - in an ideal world, it should be possible to walk across the town barefoot even in the biggest heatwaves without getting burned.

02

Space for young people

From the outputs of the Mladé fórum it's clear that young students, secondary school students, would welcome more spaces for meeting. Besides listening to the proposals to make it easier to get into the town's sports facilities, expand them with new facilities that are needed and make the centre safer, I'd like to explore the options for providing spaces to young people in other towns and discuss what options secondary school students themselves see. I know my peers would welcome coworking options in the town, and a space in the style of Scout institutes or various incubators in other towns could be a space both for us and for interested teenagers. Culture aimed at young adults and teenagers has already started coming back to the town, and that needs to continue.

03

Connecting cycle paths to the outlying parts of the town and surrounding municipalities

Definitely completing the cycle paths to the Balinské and Nesměřské valleys and connecting them in the centre. Personally, I'd also like to see a solution for connecting to the valley towards Mostiště - in the centre there is no comfortable and safe connection for cyclists to the northern route. I propose reviewing the plan for the cycle path to Hrbov, its potential benefit and feasibility. The change to the land-use plan means the plan has to be revisited, along with communication with locals and landowners. And my craziest dream would be a suspended, secured footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists along the motorway bridge.

A few words about me

He comes from the local part of Hrbov. Since his studies at the Velké Meziříčí gymnasium, his activities have been tied to the town as such. He is currently studying Game Development 🎮 at the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University in Brno. He is an active Scout. He helps lead a troop of adults and teenagers, mentors new leaders and provides IT support. He's happy to lend a hand or organise an event himself if he sees a point in it, whether it's a demonstration, a film screening or a discussion about values in society🎤. You can spot him in church behind the sound desk🎧, as a volunteer at a charity café or in a choir. He likes cycling and long-distance hiking. As his field of study suggests, his hobby is computer games. What most people don't know about Dominik is that he is the 6th highest-rated Minesweeper player in the Czech Republic💥. 📣“Why am I running for Společně VM? The very first idea came about when I was texting former classmates to ask whether we should go to a bar that had Brothers in its name. One of them replied “This brothers” with a picture of my brothers on the candidate list, followed by the question “Why aren't you on it too?”. Two years later, after getting to know some of the other members of Společně VM, I finally decided that it would be good to give it a try and have the chance, through the party's firm democratic and constructive principles, to contribute to the discussion even as an ordinary member."
