Main topics

01

public space

Thanks to the wide range of schools, people in Poruba can spend their whole childhood and youth here. That's also why we want them to feel good here and have the chance to develop. An active student community is an important part of this effort. For it to work well, we need to keep expanding community spaces where people can meet and where interesting events take place. As some of the newly renovated spaces in Poruba show, young people don't want to just stay at home, but come back outside when we offer them good, well-designed spaces.

02

open city hall and communication

Active young people help create and improve the environment around them. We have to show that it's worth trying and helping others. The worst thing is when citizens get the feeling that nothing will change anyway. We want people in Poruba to know that their ideas, activity and willingness to help make sense.

03

sport

Physical activity is an important part of a healthy and active city. To get people into sport, besides events and programmes it's also important for citizens to have easy access to sports facilities. I often hear that a group of friends wants to go and play something in a gym. But gyms are either not available for short-term hire at all, or you have to arrange the hire with the management of the school in question. That's why we want to bring together the information and the options for booking or hiring all public and school sports facilities and gyms in the city into a single online system.

A few words about me

I'm a born and bred Ostrava local, I've lived in Poruba all my life and I recently finished grammar school here. Throughout secondary school I organised events for students at school, Poruba and regional level and led several organisations. That's exactly where I learned that active people can change the world around them and make it a better place where we'll all live well.

I never wanted to go into high-level politics, but local politics interests me because it's close to people and I feel that you really can change something we'll notice in everyday life. That's exactly why I'm running – so that young people can see that they have a place in Poruba too and that our city listens to them.
