An Ostrava where young people stay

Ostrava is ageing and losing residents. Sadly, that's the harsh reality and, in my opinion, the most pressing problem of our city. That's why I'd primarily like to expand the range of attractive university degree programmes at our universities and support the arrival of employers with skilled jobs for graduates of these programmes. For example, Ostrava currently doesn't have a law faculty, which even smaller cities like Plzeň or Olomouc have. At the same time, it's definitely right to modernise the municipal housing stock in attractive locations, so that young people have a reason to stay in Ostrava or come back here after their studies.

02

City of sport

I want Ostrava to be a modern city of sport that creates good conditions for both recreational and competitive sport. The city should systematically support the development and modernisation of sports facilities, the stable running of local clubs and talented young athletes. At the same time, I think it's important for sport to be accessible to as many children and young people as possible, regardless of their families' financial means.

03

A unified and smart Ostrava

I'll work towards creating a single online citizen account for the whole city, which will gradually unify the fragmented digital services across the city districts – typically, for example, parking, local fees, or booking and using city services and facilities. It should also include a shared portal of all available municipal flats and non-residential premises, regardless of which district manages them. Citizens shouldn't have to search for information on dozens of websites or laboriously find out which rules apply where, as is the case now. Ostrava should work as one city for its residents – clearly, predictably and without unnecessary differences between individual districts.

A few words about me

I was born in Ostrava, I live in Slezská Ostrava and I work at a local law firm. For the last four years I've served on the Executive Board of the Slezská Ostrava city district, so I also have experience with how local self-government works in practice. Thanks to five years of temporarily living in Brno and experience from trips and internships abroad, I've had the chance to see how other cities work and where we can find inspiration. In my view Ostrava has huge potential, and I want to help make it a modern, confident city that can keep young people and at the same time offer good conditions for living, working and doing business to all generations.

At the same time, I think it's time to change Ostrava's image in the rest of the country so that it better matches today's reality. Ostrava has a strong industrial tradition, but today it's much more than just an industrial city – it's also a city of greenery, universities, culture, sport and technology.
