01

transport

Probably every party or group in the South Bohemian metropolis will deal with transport. Some will claim that the only solution is more lanes, others that banning cars will solve the situation. But as a traffic engineering expert I know that the truth lies in the middle. Let's complete all the necessary strategic transport projects, but without drastic regulations let's motivate residents to use sustainable forms of mobility. Walking, cycling and public transport.

02

public space

The state of public space is also closely linked to transport. Besides a bigger share of greenery in the streets, above all I want the city to have as few barriers as possible that would make it harder for mums with prams, seniors and less mobile citizens to get around. Whether it's illegally placed advertising signs or badly parked cars.

03

culture

Last but not least, the culture of Budějovice is close to my heart. Like every young person, I actively make use of our city's cultural offer. I'd like us to manage to find enough funds so that this offer can at least be maintained. But with the European Capital of Culture 2028 year approaching, investment in cultural infrastructure must also be an integral part of it.

A few words about me

I'm Ondra Talíř, I've just turned 30, and in Budějovice I'm running for mayor under the banner of the Společně pro Budějovice coalition, made up of Lidovci and TOP 09. I studied at FD ČVUT and professionally I work in traffic engineering, especially designing transport infrastructure. Among other things, I spend my free time working with young people at the Salesian Youth Centre and being active in other volunteer associations. I decided to run for mayor not only because politics is sort of part of our family DNA, but mainly because I feel the need, especially these days, to lend a hand and not just criticise things on socials. Given my professional focus, I'd like to work on transport, especially on supporting its sustainable forms.
