transport

Metro S - the project of the century. The railway map of Prague looks almost the same as it did 100 years ago. Most of the tracks and stations in Prague have been renovated, but their capacity doesn't match the needs of the 21st century. The last strategic railway project in Prague - Nové spojení - was completed in 2008. Its preparation took many decades. Prague must look to the future. The growing agglomeration needs a fast connection to carry passengers from the outskirts straight to the centre. That's why we need Metro S - a system of railway tunnels and stations under the centre, smartly linked to P+R car parks, the metro and other transport. I want to give maximum support to preparing this project.

02

safety

Security points. Some passengers on Prague public transport cause problems. They're under the influence of drugs, smell strongly and are often aggressive. These people don't belong on public transport. Today it's often the drivers who have to deal with the situation, but they aren't equipped for it. I therefore propose introducing security points in Prague at hub stops, with a round-the-clock municipal police service. Drivers will know when and whom to turn to, and the police will remove problem passengers from public transport. I want law-abiding passengers to feel safe on public transport.

03

public space

High-quality public space. Everyone has a slightly different idea of how Prague's streets, squares and parks should look. For me, what matters most is the views of local people. Public spaces serve them above all. Surveys and architectural competitions are the right way to go. But I don't want to carry out costly experiments. New buildings and reconstructions should be financially sustainable. We can only afford what Prague can pay for and maintain in the long run. We must pay maximum attention to busy places. Even smaller, short-term changes can help make Prague more beautiful.

A few words about me

Prague is what drives Czechia. It's my family's home and a beautiful historic city. That's why I want to take part in shaping its future. I'm a trainee lawyer, a member of ODS and SPOLU candidate no. 32 for the Prague city council. My priorities are clear. They are transport, safety and public space.

Prague is great, but it can't rest on its laurels. There's always something to improve. I don't want things in Prague to be done the old way just because supposedly there's no other way. We need to be open to good ideas from nearby cities and foreign capitals. But sometimes it's enough to look at our own history. My favourite books on the history of Prague show that our ancestors already came up with a lot of things and we've simply forgotten about them.

The success of the whole of Czechia depends on Prague's future. Prague is the engine of the economy. It must develop so that everyone around it does well. That requires high-quality transport links with the whole agglomeration. Prague should be open to everyone and should be a centre of business and investment. But this must never come at the expense of the people who live here. Their safety and the quality of the space they live in must always come first.
