Tomáš Rabel (25), Hranice — 2026 municipal elections

Main topics

01

Hranice – a town where young people want to live

I want to stop young people leaving Hranice and support the construction of affordable housing for young families. I want to preserve the high quality of preschool and school education, bring public space to life with a variety of cultural events and community life, and create modern facilities for sport, clubs and leisure. I want a town that offers attractive job opportunities and modern education, and where the young generation sees a secure future.

02

Town infrastructure for all generations

A modern town must work for all generations. I want high-quality public spaces, affordable housing, better parking and public transport, a barrier-free environment, without neglecting the development of the town's local parts. I'll focus on their roads, sewerage, public spaces and on solving the specific problems that bother their residents. I want to develop Hranice as a single whole – so that it's a good place to live, do sport and relax not only in the town itself but in all its local parts.

03

Ice hockey stadium

Hranice deserves a modern ice stadium, like the ones that operate successfully in many nearby towns. But the construction of the arena mustn't be paid for from the town coffers alone. The key to success will be making maximum use of regional and state grants combined with the involvement of strong private sponsors. The town will then help financially with the construction and sustainable operation. This will give us important facilities for young athletes, hockey clubs and public skating for families with children.

A few words about me

My name is Tomáš Rabel, I live in Hranice and I study software engineering at Masaryk University. I joined ODS on 23 October 2025 with a simple conviction: it's not enough to just grumble about politics over a beer, you have to get involved yourself and try to change something. In May this year I became chair of the local ODS Hranice branch, and in the municipal elections I'm running in 3rd place on the list. I'm also a member of Mladá ODS and Mladí konzervativci. In my free time I play chess, pool and guitar, and I go to hockey matches.
