Main topics

01

communication with citizens

I want the town hall to communicate openly and clearly what's really happening in the town. It shouldn't limit itself to posting about the events it organises, but should also regularly explain to people where their money flows, how the town's finances are managed and what exactly the council discussed and voted on. It's important for the town hall to present all the relevant opinions and views on an issue, not just the ones that suit it. Citizens shouldn't have to hunt for information on the internet and check for themselves what is and isn't true. Open, regular and timely communication should be a given, not an exception.

02

open city hall and communication

I want to push for open and fair tenders, so that contracts are decided not by connections but by quality and price. I support digitalising the town budget, so that everyone can easily find out where their money actually goes. Published contracts should include specific, understandable descriptions, not vague wording like "catering" that can hide anything. I also want fair and clear disclosure of how the town's organisations in Hranice manage their money, for example Ekoltes and others.

03

transport

I want to push for smart residential parking zones that are created without unnecessarily cutting down trees, because transport and greenery in the town don't have to be opposites. I'll fight to keep public transport free for Hranice residents, so that truly everyone can afford to get around town, no matter how much they happen to earn. I support introducing modern chip, tap-on cards that will make travelling even simpler and more pleasant. I also want smart stops with real-time arrival information, so people don't have to wait blindly and know exactly when their bus will arrive.

A few words about me

My name is Michal Křistek and I grew up in Hranice. I went to primary school here, I know this town well and I know what works in it and what doesn't. Today I'm studying political science and European studies at Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci.

I mostly spend my free time following politics. But I didn't want to stop there. When the opportunity to run came along, I told myself it was the best way to really influence things and help where I can. My candidacy wasn't planned years in advance, but as soon as the chance came up, I knew I wanted to take it.

I'm going into local politics as an independent candidate for the Pro Hranice group. I'm not running to earn something for myself, but because I want to help Hranice grow and become a town of the future. A place young people like me don't have to leave for Olomouc or Ostrava, but where they want to stay and live.
