Running for Levice

Main topics

01

housing

In Prague there are many overpriced buildings that are uninhabited and almost unused. As a candidate I'd like to take care of building municipal flats that would allow an across-the-board reduction in rents and enable many people to live in Prague. I will support the use of currently dilapidated buildings, not only for housing but also for culture.

02

transport

Prague is hard to get through by car, but also on foot. The solution is prioritising public transport, paid for from parking permits, and strengthening transport links between Prague and the Central Bohemian Region. At the same time I'll push for greater integration of cycling and public transport.

03

open city hall and communication

For democracy to work, it has to be practised more than just at the ballot box. I will support earmarking 5% of the city budget for participatory decision-making, i.e. ideas from citizens. I will promote openness of as much political decision-making at the municipal level as possible. At the same time we're planning mass volunteer city clean-up events in which the council will also take part, further strengthening communication between the council and citizens.

A few words about me

Tomáš Kanclíř is a 21-year-old resident of Prague 4, where he has spent his whole life. He is now studying biology at Charles University. Politically he identifies as a libertarian socialist*. In his free time he goes for walks around Prague or cycles. He is running because of Prague's great untapped potential.
