01

transport

In Kolín we've had free public transport since 2023, paid for from the town budget. This step has proved its worth and the number of passengers has more than doubled. Now we need to build on this successful step and keep improving how public transport works. That's why I want to strengthen busy connections, improve links to the Central Bohemian Integrated Transport system, especially to train connections to Prague and the surrounding Central Bohemian towns, and create conditions so that choosing whether to walk around town, cycle, take public transport or drive is always a choice of the most efficient option, not a forced step. At the same time, I want to identify suitable town-owned plots on the housing estates and in the outlying parts of town for new parking capacity linked to public transport stops and important transport hubs.

02

jobs and business

Kolín is nicknamed “the Czech Manchester”, and our town still has a strong industrial tradition. However, many people in Kolín still work in manual jobs with lower added value, often with pay close to the minimum wage. Yet Kolín is home to lots of hard-working, capable and educated people who commute every day to Prague for good, better-paid work, losing time they could spend with their family or on their interests. I want the town to actively motivate companies to create jobs with higher added value and to introduce modern technologies, industrial digitalisation and automation. Our future shouldn't be an assembly plant with cheap labour, but a modern town offering quality job opportunities.

03

budget and finances

In recent years Kolín has managed to make significant progress in obtaining subsidies and carrying out new investments. That's important and I definitely want to continue with it. But just as important as new projects is being able to look after town property responsibly in the long term. There's no point building things just for the grand opening. Every investment must serve people for many years to come. An example is the park on Kmochův ostrov, which was restored but today needs more care and regular maintenance. I'm convinced that Kolín mustn't develop only in the centre. We must invest fairly in the housing estates and outlying parts too, where most residents live. I want a town that takes good care of its property, from benches and playgrounds to public spaces and buildings.

A few words about me

Although I wasn't born in Kolín, it has become my home and a matter close to my heart. I work at the Regional Museum in Kolín as a heritage site manager and project manager, where I look after historical heritage, develop projects and make them accessible to the public. I also gained experience at the Central Bohemian Regional Authority, in the department of the Regional Governor's Office. I'm a member of KDU-ČSL and serve as 1st vice-chair of Mladí lidovci.

I live on a Kolín housing estate on Masarykova Street and I know the everyday worries of its residents – transport, parking and the quality of public space. I want to build on the success of free public transport and keep improving how it works, strengthen busy connections, improve links to train services and look for new parking solutions not only on the housing estates but also in the outlying parts of town.

Kolín has a strong industrial tradition, but its future can't be based only on cheap labour. I want to support the creation of quality jobs, modern technologies, digitalisation and closer cooperation between the town and companies.

Alongside new investments, I also consider responsible care for what we already have to be essential. Kolín mustn't develop only in the centre, but fairly in all its parts. I want a town that looks after its property, its public spaces and above all the everyday needs of its residents.
