Main topics

01

housing

I want Mladá Boleslav to finally start expanding its municipal housing stock. That way we'll support young families and key professions we can't do without. Because the reality is sad. In the last four years, not a single municipal flat has been built. That simply has to change. It needs clear priorities: a finalised zoning plan, a smart development strategy and secured funding. Affordable housing mustn't just be a promise on paper, but a real priority.

02

schools and education

I want to give young people's voices more room and support projects like the Youth Parliament. I want Boleslav to be not just a town people run away from after school, but a place where they'll want to put down roots. But for that we need accommodation. Today's boarding houses simply aren't enough. The former Hotel Věnec is just begging to be converted into modern student halls. And the long-planned, forever-postponed student club would work brilliantly there too. Students in the centre will bring life to the streets, revive community and cultural life and support small local businesses too. It makes huge sense.

03

safety

I want everyone in Mladá Boleslav to feel safe. Because real safety starts with enjoying walks around your neighbourhood without having to nervously look over your shoulder. That's why we'll breathe new life into neglected public spaces. We'll turn the corners people now go out of their way to avoid into pleasant, open places where we'll enjoy meeting up.

A few words about me

I'm Michal Javůrek and I'm running in second place on the list for Šance pro Mladou Boleslav.

I was born and grew up in Boleslav and I honestly love it here. I've been actively interested in what's going on in the town since secondary school, when I led the student parliament. Back then we managed to achieve several great things there. For example, we initiated shared bikes and regularly organised round tables that allow young people to share ideas and observations with the town's leadership.

It was these very activities that led me to teaching. After university my choice was clear: to come back home, to my family and to a town I love and that has huge potential.

Today I work here as a secondary school teacher and try to pass on knowledge and, in a way, help shape the next generation on its path through life.
