A study room and a youth representative at the town hall

The building for the future study room on the square is being renovated and is nearly finished – that's the easier part. The harder part is making sure there's then actually something in it for young people: tutoring, talks, space for student associations, a visiting psychologist and above all a group of people who'll keep it going all year round. The second thing is access: I want to be a specific point of contact at the town hall for young people – someone you can write to when something isn't working at school or in the town, and who will then actually take it all the way to a meeting. That also includes working trust boxes and school psychologists at all schools, and opening up the Pupils' Council to those who aren't elected to it too.

Housing for young people in Říčany

Říčany is one of the best places to live in Czechia, and you can see it in housing prices. I won't promise that the council will solve this in four years – that would be a lie. But I want people to start talking about it in concrete terms: find out how many young people leave Říčany and why, look at what comparable towns are doing about it, and build a realistic plan from that – an affordable housing strategy for young people from Říčany.

Majáles and culture for young people

We built Říčanský Majáles from scratch as students, and today it's an event the whole town comes to. Its problem is that every year it depends on whether the money can be found. I want to make Majáles a permanent item of the town's cultural life with a set budget and clear organisational backing, so it doesn't depend on luck. Alongside that, I want to support smaller things that are missing in the town all year round – gigs by young bands, tournaments and events that young people will organise themselves when they're given the space.

A few words about me

I'm 20, I grew up in Říčany and graduated from the local grammar school. Today I study political science and public policy at the Faculty of Social Sciences of UK.

I've been involved in public life since I was fifteen. For three years I led the Říčany Pupils' Council – we organised Říčanský Majáles, benefit concerts, and sports and educational events. I helped found the Central Bohemian Student Parliament and was behind the ZměňTO participatory budget, in which over 500 young people decided how part of the town's money would be used. I co-founded the regional media outlet Radar Říčansko, which tries to get news from the region to people who don't read newspapers.

I'm running because most decisions about Říčany are made without people my age, even though they affect us the most – housing, schools etc. I'm in 11th place on the Klidné město list, and I want to be the person on the council whom young people can genuinely pester about what isn't working for them in the town.
