young people

Instead of a fragmented participatory budget, which because of low limits only produces small things with no long-term return, we'll launch a Town Accelerator for talented people (following the example of Písek and Chrudim): we'll give young people and start-ups seed capital and mentoring. The condition is fair – be based and pay taxes at home in Rožnov. Following the example of Ostravice, we'll set fair rules for investors: in exchange for the opportunity to build large projects, they'll hand over some of the flats to the town. We'll then offer these, together with scholarships, directly at universities to the specialists we're missing – from child psychologists and dentists to teachers.

02

budget and finances

An end to decisions made from behind a desk and uncertain annual grants! Following the example of Vsetín and ValMez, we'll include co-financing of social services directly in the town's fixed expenditure, with multi-year contracts. Providers will gain stability and won't have to sweat every year over uncertain grant procedures. We'll introduce community planning that works, with working subgroups directly for citizens and clients (seniors, wheelchair users or visually impaired people).

03

social services

A person at a difficult moment in life doesn't have the strength to be the manager of their own misfortune and ring round the authorities. Following the example of Vsetín, we'll set up a town care coordinator – a single point of contact that connects health workers, community nurses and hospices. And through the Town Fund we'll pay for a behavioural specialist or therapist for families in acute crisis straight away, without months of waiting at overloaded state counselling centres. Because in our town every child saved and every family we help put their life back together matters.

A few words about me

I'm 19. I live in Rožnov p. R., I run the marketing agency PV MEDIA, where we give work to talented young people from our region, and I also serve as regional secretary of Mladé ODS.

Our town is my home and something close to my heart. All the more it saddens me to look at the reality: a town with a budget of almost 900 MILLION CROWNS is gradually running out of breath.

The numbers on the streets and in the statistics speak clearly – last year we lost 147 residents, and there are 174 seniors for every 100 children here. We're the 5th oldest town in the region. This trend of dying out is nationwide, but in our region and in our towns it's unfortunately the strongest – and in Rožnov we lose almost one per cent of the population every year.

Young people pack their bags after school and leave for big cities. On top of that, the town hall leadership doesn't listen enough to experts from social services and to street workers who care for our seniors and people with disabilities. Families in difficult crises then wait needlessly long for help.

Instead of haphazard distribution of money, I want a long-term vision for Rožnov and investment directly in its citizens. I don't want a town that just waits!
