young people

As a student, I want a Jihlava that young people won't leave after school but will come back to. For us young people and young families to want to stay here, the city has to work well every day. The foundation is affordable housing; it mustn't be the reason young people leave the city. For young families, the key is combining work and childcare, which is why I want to support admitting two-year-olds to nurseries. But Jihlava also has to be alive. That's why I'll support programmes for teenagers and university students, student events and culture right in the streets, courtyards and parks. A city for young people needs community facilities and public space where you can simply spend your free time.

02

public space

Public space has to be designed thoughtfully and serve people. I want a city with wider pavements, more greenery and, above all, clean places where you can simply sit in the shade even in the heat of summer. For that we urgently need working benches, drinking fountains for cooling off and well-kept playgrounds for children as well as places for teenagers. What's essential for me is a welcoming, green environment around primary schools that would serve as a good place to relax and meet. I believe Jihlava has huge potential for relaxation right in the city. We need to prepare more projects such as Zelený okruh and reviving Stará plovárna or Stříbrné údolí.

03

culture

To me, culture doesn't just mean formal events. I want it to be lively, varied and enjoyable for all generations. In my view, Jihlava needs to develop its alternative and community scene much more, whether that's smaller festivals, the student majáles, street fests or ordinary neighbourhood get-togethers. At the same time, we need to take culture much more out of closed buildings, right into the streets of the centre, into individual neighbourhoods, parks and courtyards. City-owned venues should also offer a more contemporary programme and be truly lively places for residents and visitors of all ages. But for this to work, culture can't do without clear support for those who create it.

A few words about me

I'm a Jihlava native and a student of international relations at Masarykova univerzita in Brno. I completed my bachelor's at FMV VŠE in International Studies and Diplomacy. I currently work with the Piráti as regional coordinator and administrator of the Jihlava campaign. At the same time, I'm an intern in project purchasing at Bosch. I've been interested in public affairs since I was young. Together with Michael Hug, I'm behind the Jihlava initiative “Stojíme za Ukrajinou”. My vision is Jihlava as a welcoming city for everyone, a city that's alive. I want to revive the centre, public space and local culture. But more than anything, I care about creating conditions here so that we young people won't want to leave for elsewhere after school. That's why I'm running as number 7 for Piráti and Fórum Jihlava with the support of Zelení.
