Main topics

01

environment

I want to make better use of the neglected part of the forest between Nová Ves and Pískové doly, where there are wetlands and waterlogged areas. I propose sensitively revitalising them and making them accessible, for example with boardwalks, an educational trail and resting places, similar to how the wetlands in Ostrava-Hrabová were put to good use. The aim isn't to build over nature, but on the contrary to preserve it, support water retention and create a pleasant place to relax that will naturally cool the surroundings in the summer heat.

02

transport

I want to tackle the shortage of parking spaces on the housing estates of Ostrava-Jih, but not at the expense of greenery. I propose looking for options for new spaces on unused paved areas, adjusting traffic arrangements where more spaces can be gained, and at the same time improving the safety of crossings, pavements and school surroundings.

03

safety

Together with our team, we've already been involved in tackling safety and order around the problem hostels Hlubina in Hrabůvka and Soiva in Zábřeh near Pískové doly. I want to continue this in other parts of Jih too. To focus on places where there are recurring problems with noise, mess, vandalism, or where people don't feel safe in the evening. More targeted municipal police patrols, better lighting and above all faster handling of residents' reports can help.

A few words about me

My name is Jan Kamrád. Straight after school I worked for a few years as a sales representative, where above all I learned to deal with people, listen to them and look for concrete solutions to their problems. Today I work as manager of the development team of the Poznej Ostravu project, where I lead a team of twelve people and take part in a project that aims to bring Ostrava closer to people in a modern way and make use of new technologies.

I don't want to claim I'm a “successful entrepreneur”. I've taken a few steps forward, gained experience, built something and, above all, I'm still learning. And that's how I want to approach politics too — in a modern, open and concrete way. I don't want to hide behind phrases in front of people or avoid awkward questions. When something can be done, I want to say how. When it can't, I want to explain fairly why.

One of my main topics is a safer Ostrava. I want parents not to have to worry when their children come home alone in the evening from sport, a club or from friends. I don't see politics as a path to a position or a reward, but as a chance to bring concrete changes and to really be among people.
