public space

It's important to have enough places to rest -> increase the number of benches and pay attention to where they're placed and how they're designed so it makes sense. Expand green areas, for example when enlarging parks, and add greenery and sports areas to public space. Ensure safe crossings at busy spots, with suitable signal timing. In Plzeň we have city e-bikes, so cycle lanes and other forms of cycling infrastructure should be joined into smooth, logically connected cycle corridors. Keep digitalising city services and making them simpler for citizens to use.

02

environment

The environment needs to be approached responsibly: look after urban greenery, support green roofs, solar panels and the retention and use of rainwater. When planting trees and other plants, choose suitable species with regard to their long-term lifespan and the planting site. Solar panels can be used, for example, over car parks, where they'll also create shade for cars. Handle public lighting smartly, use smart spot lamps and keep it uniform. Improve the placement of litter bins and add more recycling bins at busy spots. Waste needs to be handled so that most of it doesn't end up in the incinerator. At the same time it's important to manage land so that the rules of environmentally friendly farming are followed

03

social services

Plzeň definitely lacks study spaces and community centres. Schools need more support for psychologists and non-teaching staff, more of them and regular training. Education about mental health and addiction is also important and should be available in the city districts for people of all ages. Support parents in better understanding their children, whether in connection with the rapid development of technology or with mental health, and support family activities. Given the falling number of children, consider admitting two-year-olds to nursery schools. The foundation is greater participation and communication with local residents. Strengthen cooperation between the municipal police and residents. Keep cutting back visual smog and keep cooperating with Plzeňská iniciativa.

A few words about me

I'm 20, I come from Šumava and now live in Plzeň, which I've grown very fond of in that time and which has become my new home. I'm chair of mSTAN in the Plzeň Region, and I'm involved in public affairs mainly because I enjoy watching how things work and thinking about how they could work better. Outside public life I do dance and theatre. I'm interested in history, law, psychology and physics, and in general I like it when you can look at things from more than one angle. I also enjoy discussing things and trying to understand why someone sees them differently. I think it's precisely thanks to different points of view that you can reach better solutions and sensible compromises. So what I'd mainly like to bring into municipal politics is openness, a drive to get things done and the perspective of the young generation. I also believe in connecting different age groups and in building communities, because that's where, in my view, a space emerges in which people can get to know each other, listen to each other and change something together. It matters to me that Plzeň isn't just a city that works well on paper, but one where people really live well.
