Young people should have the chance to have a say in the shape of the city they live in. They often notice problems that others miss and bring new ideas and energy. At the same time, they deserve more support – from affordable housing and good facilities for study and work to plenty of meaningful ways to spend their free time. If we want young people to stay in our region and start families here, we have to give them a reason to build their lives right here.
There are fewer and fewer places where animals can move safely, people can rest and the landscape can function naturally. Instead, there are more and more scorching surfaces, illegal dumps and polluted streams. As a Scout, I know how important it is to teach children respect for nature and for the weaker. I also care about animal protection – from supporting animal shelters to rejecting the use of animals for entertainment. I believe that a considerate approach to nature and to all living beings says something about the kind of society we want to create.
I'm a member of the Council of Mladé Pirátstvo, the youth organisation of Pirátská strana, where I focus primarily on local development and the environment. That plays a big role in my life: a few years ago I became vegan, and I'm currently also teaching children in Scouts to protect nature. In my free time I also do fire shows, but the most important part of my life is still public affairs, which I want to focus on in my further studies too. Because I believe that if we want to live in a free country with fair living conditions (such as job opportunities, affordable housing or ways to spend free time), we have to work on them together, and not just as young people.
