Care for seniors

From the young generation's point of view, care for seniors may seem like a distant topic, but it affects us more than we often realise. Population ageing is a fact I see live in my everyday practice. Our goal should therefore be the health of our parents and grandparents – not only physical, but also mental and social. We need to ensure accessible, good-quality care for seniors right in their home environment. That will take the pressure off big hospitals and off us, their loved ones.

02

jobs and business

The city should strive to make people want to stay in Pardubice and the surrounding area. What mainly decides where life is good is job opportunities and good-quality health and social care. When it comes to job opportunities, it should be in the interest of both the city and local companies to cooperate as much as possible. As the founder of schools, the city should motivate and inspire students to work in local businesses – and companies, in turn, should show students clear career opportunities in the region, or even support them in strategically important school subjects. Our economy stands on small and medium-sized businesses, so it's right to motivate young people to start businesses. The city's growing café and food scene is clear proof of that.

03

sport

The best way to get around Pardubice is on foot or by bike. Transport is struggling, mainly because of necessary bridge repairs, and at the same time we want a clean, green city with good air quality. That's why support for the development of sport, and with it the physical well-being of residents, should be essential – a physically fit person with a good relationship to sport is more likely to reach for a bike than a steering wheel. Not to mention that sport is one of the best tools for bringing people together across generations and preventing social isolation, which I already mentioned in connection with seniors. Support for sports facilities, cycle paths and leisure activities for children and adults should therefore be a natural part of the city's development – not only as an investment in health, but also in a sense of belonging between people.

A few words about me

I'm a born-and-bred Pardubice native. I graduated from Dašické gymnázium and I'm now an orthopaedic doctor. I'm not indifferent to what's happening around me, and that's why I decided to run in local politics. My goal is to always look for solutions that leave no one behind – whether it's a senior, a family, a student or an entrepreneur.
