Junction between Staré Čivice and Popkovice, Pardubice VI

Between the areas of Staré Čivice and Popkovice in the Pardubice VI city district there's a dangerous junction which, because of sometimes unclear road markings, is confusing for drivers. A driver on the minor road at this junction may think they're on the main road and vice versa. In my view, the best proposal would be to control the junction with traffic lights or, better, to build a roundabout instead, since the junction has several connections: Staré Čivice, Stavebniny, Popkovice and the connection to the road towards Starý Máteřov and Chrudim, which is a busy road. This summer alone I witnessed more than 4 traffic accidents at this junction and heard about many more — it's a danger to traffic and to life. I want to push for change and greater safety on this stretch.

Roma Council of the City of Pardubice

If I were elected as a councillor, I'd help to back a new Roma Council of the City of Pardubice, whose members would be representatives of the city, public administration and representatives of the city's Roma communities. It would follow the example of Brno and Plzeň, where these advisory city bodies work and improve civic coexistence, dialogue between citizens and the city, and cultural preservation. As a member of the Government Council for Roma Minority Affairs, where I've worked for 3 years and deal with international relations, and also as a descendant of the legendary king of the Vlax Roma, I have experience in human rights and public administration issues. Such an advisory body would also help considerably to reduce prejudice and help build the much-needed educated Roma middle class.

Young people and public administration

Unfortunately, young people often aren't interested in local politics and public administration. These two areas run through our lives all the time. Whenever we go to the post office, to a government office, apply for an occupancy permit, negotiate starter flats, for example, or dialogues about how schools are run. Young people deal with all of this. I'd like to bring this issue more into the light, because it's precisely young people who will live in the world that politics and public administration shape — life won't be good for us if we're constantly lax about our lives and destinies. We need young, capable people in offices, ministries and politics, and yes, they have their place there!

A few words about me

I've been a Pardubice native since birth and I won't hear a bad word about my city. For 3 years now I've been a member of the Government Council for Roma Minority Affairs, I was an adviser to the British Ambassador Matt Field and an adviser at the embassy of the U.S.A., and I also worked as an international relations adviser to the former government commissioner Lucie Fuková. I'm running because many people asked me to and because they deserve their voice in our city. I'm running because I care how the city is doing and what it will look like in the future. I'm running because I follow the rule "noblesse oblige", that is, nobility obliges. It is the duty of those of us who are better educated and strong to help those in need, just like the knights of the Order of Malta, whose motto is the defence of the faith and help for the poor.
