Main topics

01

social services

Here I'd say healthcare and social services, because these issues go very much hand in hand. I want to develop already well-functioning services such as Senior taxi, which provides convenient and accessible transport for seniors to healthcare facilities, support the digitalisation of services and help set up a Children's Mental Health Centre. I also want to do more to support family centres and non-profit organisations, without which we couldn't manage social services at the municipal level.

02

public space

Clean, welcoming, safe. That's what public space should be like. Perhaps surprisingly for some, this topic is again connected with health. It's not just about enough greenery, which has a calming effect; I'd like our city district to be the best example of creating a so-called non-obesogenic environment. Badly designed public space can actually encourage reduced activity and, in turn, a higher risk of cardiovascular disease. That's why I'd like public space where it's comfortable and safe to walk and cycle, that's attractive and calm, where it's easy to find a rubbish bin and enough places to rest.

03

political culture and relations with the public

It's not exactly a political issue, but I'd like to translate politics into understandable human language for the people around me, especially my peers. I want to explain well how things work, and I hope I'll manage to motivate a few active people with a desire to change the world to get into politics. I'd like people not to picture evil when they think of politics, but to see it as a tool for improving the world around them. My goal is also a calm, rational debate without needless vulgarity and negative emotions. I think that's often quite lacking in public discussion.

A few words about me

I'm from Brno and currently work as a doctor at Fakultní nemocnice u sv. Anny v Brně. Right now I'm doing my internal medicine foundation training, but in the future I want to focus on immunology and allergology, healthy lifestyle and prevention – in short, the future of medicine. I've spent most of my life so far in Brno-sever, the second-largest city district in Brno; my whole family is here and I don't feel more at home anywhere else. All the more reason I care about the direction it will take in the future, and so I want to lend a hand too.

I've been in ODS for 6 years; from volunteering on campaigns at all levels, through the basics of political marketing, the local association's board and work on our city district's health and social commission, I've worked my way up to number two on the candidate list. In my view, local politics is really close to my profession – it's about direct contact with people, listening and finding the best solutions for specific people. That's why I wanted to go the extra step and add civic engagement to the medical profession I want to devote my whole life to.
