Main topics

01

public space

It's the town's calling card, so public space should combine visual presentation with practicality. It should look clean - and that's primarily about visual smog. From a practical point of view, a municipality the size of Rajhrad should have working public toilets, bins for sorted waste and places to spend free time - all close to the town centre. Another thing in this category is drinking fountains, which will be needed more and more given the climate situation. The same goes for greenery: trees in public space are useful both practically and visually.

02

schools and education

Good education and progressive schools are crucial and shouldn't be underestimated. I want to make sure parents trust the local school and don't feel the need to look for better education in bigger towns. If the school, in cooperation with the municipality, looks after the quality of its teachers, takes an innovative approach and listens to children and parents, it will make full use of its potential.

03

open city hall and communication

The town hall should be close to the town's residents. I'd like to push for a working communication platform for citizens, so they can easily turn to the town hall. I'm also in favour of the authority keeping up with the times and adapting how it presents itself to the outside world. A clear and intuitive website, social media and simply ways through which it could present its work to its citizens. The town hall should be understandable and open to people.

A few words about me

My name is Alexandra Kovaříková and I'm the leader of the Mladí pro Rajhrad list. I've lived in Rajhrad since I was born, it's my home. I study political science and international relations at Masaryk University, and before that I went to a grammar school in Brno with an arts focus. Apart from school, I work as a guide at the castle, which means I'm often in contact with people - that has really moved me forward in my communication skills and speaking in front of people. I want to get as many of my peers as possible to take an interest in what's going on around them and want to be part of it. Active young people are needed and they should be heard. I want us to be strong and not be discouraged just because we "don't have life experience". I reject these superficial assumptions. Young people have energy, ideas and skills that our community needs. I value every generation and decent people, and in local politics I'd like to connect all the generational worlds, support and initiate events where people of different ages will meet and pass on experience and energy to each other. Everything rests on cooperation and mutual respect.
