sport

I want Chropyně to offer good facilities for all generations and different kinds of sport. In particular, I feel young people need support, including clubs that are just starting out or don't have enough children to get money from national programmes. I explicitly want to mention Czech handball, which has a long tradition in our town and can't be overlooked. A major benefit is the new sports hall, which we promised in our programme at the last municipal elections, and I'm glad it has been built and will serve everyone who likes doing sport. It's the largest investment project in the town's history, and I appreciate the mayor's effort in not being afraid of it, taking on such a huge challenge and finding support for it in the town council.

02

transport

Parking is no longer a problem only in big cities these days; it's a hot topic in smaller towns too. I'm glad our town's leadership managed to find space and build new car parks, so that Chropyně now has roughly a hundred more parking spaces. As a member of the Transport Committee of the Zlín Region Council, I'm aware of the accident rate on the roads, which is largely caused by driver inattention. I like modern road safety technology. A typical example is smart pedestrian crossings with flashing LED warning lights that alert drivers to crossing pedestrians in time. I'd like to see these features in Chropyně in the future too.

03

safety

I've long been interested in how the Police of the Czech Republic works, and I'm sorry that this security force, and not only this one, has long been understaffed and new recruitment drives can't attract enough young people to stabilise the situation. Bringing it down to our local level, I fully agree with the step the town's leadership took when, because of long-term rising crime, it established a municipal police force by a generally binding ordinance; it works well and contributes to safety and prevention. I also appreciate how cooperation is set up with the Police of the Czech Republic, the Fire Protection Unit and also the Emergency Medical Service. If I became a councillor, I would support the municipal police project and push for the officers to have the best possible equipment for their work.

A few words about me

My name is Kamil Zalabák and I care about what our town looks like today, but above all about what it will look like in the future. I study law at the Faculty of Law of Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci, where I'm currently in my 4th year. For the last four years I've also been a member of the Chropyně Town Audit Committee and, since the last regional elections, a member of the Transport Committee of the Zlín Region Council.

In my free time I mainly do sport. I came up through all the youth categories of FK Chropyně, and for the last four years I've been a football referee on the KFS Zlín list. I'm also still a registered player at SK Haná Záříčí, where I train regularly. When I have time, I also write articles and interviews for the regional press. Sport, my experience on town and Zlín Region committees and studying law have taught me responsibility, quick decision-making and problem-solving.

I consider Chropyně my home and I want it to be a safe and modern town. I'm pleased that Chropyně has made huge progress over the last four years, and now it's important to maintain continuity, which I want to contribute to as a candidate for the council.
