01

public space

The town lacks a long-term development plan. All too often we focus on individual things and only patch up current problems, while often not even planning beyond a single electoral term. We spend 4 years preparing, the elections come and we start again from scratch — Volary can hardly develop like this. The approach so far of random investments with no continuity or vision doesn't do the town any good, and that's what I personally want to change. Let me give an example — it's not enough to build one cycle path; we need to think about the whole network of cycle paths. How to connect it, how to extend it and what we'd like the whole system to look like in, say, 10 years. I want to come up with well-thought-out solutions and plans for improving the town strategically, and I believe that, with Nezávislí, we'll deliver them too.

02

young people

Many people in Volary have the impression that it's a dump with no future. Secondary school and university students often don't come back here, because life here just doesn't make sense to them. I believe that a dynamic pace of development, a good school and nurseries, facilities for young families and seniors, a rich cultural life — all of this can help reverse the trend, but it's no cure-all. Young people need to see that they matter, that they're not just here “on a visit” until 18 and then “farewell!”. As long as we're reduced to “troublemakers and slackers”, we'll hardly see our future here. So I'd like to represent young people who don't have representation yet and so help create a town for all generations without distinction, not exclusively for pensioners or teenagers.

03

communication with citizens

Volary is too big for official news to spread reliably on its own, but too small for it not to be overtaken by clouds of gossip and half-truths. A modern town has to communicate with its citizens directly. Clearly, predictably and well. Whether it's social media, live streams of council meetings or emergency communication, every citizen must know where they'll get verified, accurate and up-to-date information, whatever the situation, crisis or calm. Not to mention organising meetings and round tables on key topics. So I want to push for a greater focus on communication within the town office. Because an informed public not only keeps a better check, but is also more likely to come up with its own suggestions and get involved in public life.

A few words about me

I'm Filip Naumov and I come from Volary, where I'm also running as number seven for Nezávislí.

When I'm not in the Šumava, I study political science and international relations at Univerzita Karlova in Prague and work as an assistant in the Senate. Theory is nice, but practice has always suited me better, so I didn't hesitate and decided to run in my first elections.

I see politics as a calling to serve, and if I can serve and help anywhere, it's best where I'm at home — in Volary. Even though a lot of people don't believe it, I see the potential here of a lovely little town in the Šumava hills, where you can not only have a good rest but also live comfortably and start a family. And that's my goal — to share this vision, work on it and move Volary forward.

I feel responsible for my town and for what goes on in it. Because I believe that a determined person really can change the world for the better. A town that everyone considers their own and that all of us care about, regardless of age — that's what I'd wish for and what I'm going after.
