Bohumín is one of the few larger towns that doesn't have its own public transport. People can practically not get to the centre by public transport, most parts of the town aren't connected, and the existing regional buses don't go where they should. The main point of our programme is introducing our own public transport run with electric minibuses.
Young people today have a big problem finding a flat of their own. At a young age they can't afford to offer amounts reaching 200 crowns per square metre, so they often move away from the town. I propose freeing up starter flats from the municipal housing stock for young people and families at a reduced price.
Today the town centre is essentially one big, often unsightly concrete surface. I'm pushing for more greenery in the centre, efficient use of rainwater and the gradual modernisation and improvement of public spaces and street furniture.
I'm 19 and since I turned eighteen I have been leading the STAN movement in Bohumín. For the elections we joined forces with ODS and formed the PLUS coalition, for which I'm running in 3rd place. I focus mainly on a programme for young people and families and also on transport in the town, because Bohumín has long been rapidly losing residents. I want to bring the town new energy and experience from the perspective of someone from the young generation, and keep people in the town.
