I want to give much stronger support to sport for children, young people and the general public, and above all to smaller sports and community events. I know from my own experience that support doesn't have to mean just money – the city can help by providing spaces, facilities, promotion or lending equipment. I'll also support organisers who have been creating events for the public in the city for a long time. In my view, sport isn't just about top clubs, but mainly about people moving and children having somewhere to do sport.
