A few words about me
Únanov is almost 800 years old. I'm 24 and I'm running for mayor.
I've been a councillor in Únanov since 2022. I studied public economics and administration at MUNI and work, among other things, as a municipal development specialist. Thanks to that, I know local government not only from textbooks but also from practice – from budgets and investments to preparing projects. I also represent students in the Council of Higher Education Institutions as first vice-chair for organisation and management.
What I enjoy about local politics is that you can't hide behind big words in it for long. Either you can walk safely through the municipality, or you can't. Either people know what's happening with their suggestion, or they don't. Either the municipality plans ahead, or it deals with things only when they're on fire.
I don't want to prove that the younger generation knows everything better. It doesn't. But it brings different expectations of how services should work: information available straight away, the chance to get involved, simple solutions and decision-making you can understand.
So I'm not running for mayor to make Únanov “younger”. I'm running so that it's well prepared for what's coming. So that it can make use of new opportunities without losing what already works today. I want an Únanov for eight-year-olds and eighty-year-olds alike – and a municipal leadership that's close to people.
