public space

Brno-střed, as the city's shop window, deserves a clean, accessible and aesthetic public space. A key step is a consistent fight against visual smog, removing illegal advertising and setting clear rules for businesses to present themselves in a tasteful way. Architectural changes and new construction must respect the unified character and historic spirit of the district, but must not limit the growth and expansion of the city. Accessibility is just as crucial – the centre must be easily and safely accessible for seniors, parents with pushchairs and people with disabilities. We'll focus on removing barriers, adjusting pavements and barrier-free crossings. By combining aesthetics, architectural order and accessibility, we'll create a representative and dignified Brno.

02

IT and AI in city administration

Brno is already a technology leader, and we must bring these innovations directly into how the city is run. The goal is full digitalisation of the city's services, so that citizens can handle all their matters comfortably from home without waiting at offices. Bringing artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics into municipal companies will make them fundamentally more efficient – from more accurate public transport planning and optimised waste collection to predictive maintenance of roads and heat distribution. Sensors and smart systems will also help with dynamic control of junctions for smoother traffic flow and with guiding drivers to free parking spaces. All solutions will be built on maximum cybersecurity and on opening data to local startups. We'll use IT and AI so that they save the city money and save people time.

03

communication with citizens

The relationship between the town hall and citizens must be built on trust, openness and a partnership approach. Running Brno-střed must not consist merely of announcing decisions, but of actively listening. The key is clear information for the public without bureaucratic jargon and quick handling of reports of faults in the streets. Residents must know exactly what stage the solution to their problem is at. I will also strongly support participatory projects that give real space to community ideas. The town hall isn't there to rule over people, but to provide an efficient service. Through transparent communication we'll turn the centre into a community where everyone feels heard.

A few words about me

Hi, I'm Jarda, I'm 24, I studied European Studies at MUNI and I'm juggling things. I've been interested in politics since secondary school, when I was still a long way from casting my first ballot. So I travelled around to campaigns, chatted with politicians at their stands and tried to get a sense of what's behind the decisions that play out around us. Very early on I understood how important local elections are (I'd say almost the most important) and yet how little attention they get. Nothing affects the things in your immediate surroundings more than local elections. That's also why, as soon as there was a chance to get more actively involved, I joined the Fakt Brno movement so that I could really start changing things. Brno has been my home all my life and I want life here to be good not only for me, but one day for my children and future generations too. And that's why we need to start as soon as possible, because what we start now will show and affect a lot of people. I want more transparency, openness, a focus on more flexible modernisation and support for greenery (I'm writing this just as it's 40 degrees outside the window).

And that's why I'm going for it, together with the Piráti a Fakt Brno TU! coalition
