01

public space

Public space in Most is often neglected, even though for me it's one of the most important aspects of a modern, developed city. Although big strategic development projects are important, the city leadership can't neglect investment in what housing estates and public spaces look like. I see communication with people as crucial. The best ideas and solutions often come precisely from the residents who live in a given place and know its problems from experience. That's why transparency and communication from the city leadership towards the public is also one of my big priorities.

02

transport

Public transport in Most is going through a major modernisation, but it's important to make changes systematically and sensibly so that they don't mean further complications for passengers. If I were to mention some specific changes for our public transport, it would be introducing boarding through all doors on buses (as in bigger cities), so we avoid unnecessary delays when boarding and late running. Secondly, I'd like to help improve connections between public transport and train services, which would help not only commuting students and seniors. The price of tickets and passes themselves is also important; it should be set so that public transport is as competitive as possible with travelling by car.

03

young people

It's a well-known fact that young people are leaving Most. It's quite understandable that students go to university in a bigger city, but we should focus on making people want to come back to us after their studies. One thing is building good facilities, sports and cultural opportunities. But much more important are affordable housing and good working conditions. That's why it's important not only to move the city's infrastructure forward so it brings big companies to Most, but also to support local companies and entrepreneurs.

A few words about me

I'm Jakub Zlata, I'm 18 and I'm from Most. I'm currently a grammar school student, where I'm most interested in political science and the social sciences in general. In my free time, apart from politics, I'm mainly into sport and music.

Politics has interested and fascinated me since an early age; ever since I was little I enjoyed finding out how things work and how they can be changed. I've lived in Most all my life and I dare say that over that time I've found a few things I'd like to change. Over the past two years, though, I realised that nothing is stopping me from actually changing those things, so I dug deep and looked for concrete solutions to the problems that bother or interest me. I'd like to bring drive and energy to our council, represent young people and help improve the place where I'm growing up.
